Storm Caroline Has Officially Hit The UK – Here’s What To Expect

Storm Caroline has hit the UK, with winds reaching 116mph in Scotland earlier this afternoon, after the Met Office issued an amber warning.

A possible danger to life was reported earlier, having battered coastlines in exposed areas.

Flights and ferries have been cancelled and schools were closed in the North of the UK.

Earlier, the Met Office warned that winds of up to 73mph in areas of England, and above 90mph in parts of Scotland, and have since predicted most of the UK will see ice and snow later tonight.

33 kids have been rescued in ‘lucky escape’ after their school bus was hit by waves this afternoon, according to the Daily Record.

There have already been reports of snow in the higher regions of Scotland and temperatures are expected to drop below freezing into the night.
