All we dream of for our long weekend is sunshine.

Sunshine so we can enjoy a nice pint or six in a beer garden with our feet up. It’s not too much to ask, is it?

Sadly, it is.

The Met Office has predicted some harsh weather for this weekend, including rain, thunderstorms, rain, wind, rain, hail and rain.

Remember that old Beatles song, Here Comes The Rain?

The Met Office said blustery showers are on the way to Manchester today.

A spokesperson said: “A day of sunny spells and scattered showers for all. The showers will be heavy at times with a risk of hail and thunder.

“Feeling cool, especially in the breeze with some strong gusts also likely at times.”

Thunderstorms have been forecast for today at 5pm.

Outlook for this weekend

Saturday will see more sunny spells and scattered showers, with maximum temperatures of 18C.

Wet and windy weather is forecast for Sunday, while Monday is expected to be bright with some showers.

Basically, we can kiss long hours on sunny terraces goodbye.
