Good news for those dreaming of a white Christmas – bad news for travellers!
The Met Office has now issued a yellow warning for snow and ice across Greater Manchester set to land this Friday and last the duration of the weekend.
The warning suggest that up to 5cm of snow could be likely.
There’s even been suggestions that the extreme weather could turn into a full-blown snow blizzard, with gales and freezing cold temperatures forecast for the end of this week.
Temperatures could drop to -10C in parts of the UK, forecasters say.
It’s all thanks to a prolonged period of cold in the Pacific, as La Nina builds, blocking milder winds across Manchester and beyond.
Wrap up, Manchester!
