'Mega-Storm' Predicted To Bring 10CM Snow To UK With Heavy Frost And Strong Winds

Stay safe out there

It's hump day Wednesday which basically means the weekend is right around the corner. And it's coming up to spring. Win.

It's good news all round, right?

However, if the Met Office forecast is to be believed we might be better off staying at home instead of gallivanting around the city this weekend.

Weather experts say that Storm Gareth has doubled into a massive 2000-mile wide 'mega storm' and forecasts predict a particularly cold one this weekend with colossal wintry showers throughout and the chance of 10-15cm of snow cover in some parts of the country. Jeesh.

The latest forecasts claim that the country will be blasted by persistent, wintry downpours, hale, sleet and gale force winds. Weather warnings for snow and ice will remain in place across a large part of the UK this weekend and into early next week with frost and 'icy stretches.'

If you're travelling by road, rail or air expect delays to journey times and potential cancellations. Don't forget to check ahead before you leave and plan your car journeys carefully.

Stay safe.
