Snow has been predicted in Manchester over the next few days, the Met Office has said.
Heavy rain has been forecast for today and much of tomorrow, but some parts of Greater Manchester will experience snow, including Oldham, Tameside and Rochdale.
Dustings are forecast from as early as 2am Tuesday morning, expected to continue throughout the day and into Wednesday morning.
Monday is due to be cold in Manchester, with temperatures reaching lows of 4C later in the day. Heavy rain is predicted throughout Monday morning.
There are currently severe weather warnings in place for snow and ice in parts of Northern England and Scotland.
A spokesperson for the Met Office said: “The largest accumulations of snow will be over high ground with over 10 cm building up above 200 metres. At low levels, accumulations of the order 2-5 cm will be more typical.
“Strong winds are also expected, with the potential for temporary blizzard conditions and drifting of lying snow, particularly over high ground.”
The forecaster added: “A cold and windy night, with clear spells and blustery showers. The showers falling as snow over the hills, but also to some low levels. Risk of icy patches. Minimum temperature 0 °C.”
