Larry Lamb and Melanie Walters, popular comedy duo who starred in the Essex and Barry Island-based Gavin & Stacey – have come together once again in a new BBC1 drama set to grace our screens this spring 2019.
Lamb, who previously played Gavin’s dad, Michael Shipman and Walters, who starred as Stacey’s mum Gwen West will reunite in what promises to be a captivating new family drama set on the coast of North Wales. The cast will also include Hayley Mills, Ifan Huw Dafydd and Caroline Sheen.
Pitching In will focus and follow three generations of the same family and will be set around a caravan park on the coast. As Lamb told the BBC:
“Eleven years after Gavin and Stacey burst onto the scene I’m heading out west again, switching Barry Island for Anglesey this time.
“I’m delighted to be playing the role of Frank in Pitching In – it’s a touching, funny and romantic story and a fascinating glimpse of life on the north Wales coast.”
We’re already buzzing for it. Spring can’t come around fast enough…
