Celebrity Big Brother contestant Ryan Thomas has been given a formal warning after accusations of an ‘altercation’ with fellow housemate Roxanne Pallett.

During Thursday’s show, Channel 5 broadcast the moment former Emmerdale actress, 35, accused Thomas of punching her, branding him a ‘woman beater’.

Outraged fans took to social media following the show, tweeting Ofcom with complaints.

One tweeted: “Complaint to @Ofcom sent! @bbuk it’s a disgrace that she was allowed to go to ridiculous lengths regarding the Ryan situation!

“Accusations like this can ruin a mans career and life!!!! He did no such thing and he is not scary or intimidating! She is pathetic!! @ryanjamesthomas”

Another added: “Just made my first ever complaint #ofcom @RoxannePallett you should feel ashamed of yourself @channel5_tv take that warning back”

Thursday’s episode showed Roxanne say Ryan had ‘really hurt’ her, before talking to Big Brother in the diary room.

She said: “I just need to talk to somebody in production about something that’s just happened that made me really uncomfortable. I don’t really want to go any further and talk about it on camera like this.”

Roxanne returned to the diary room later on and added: “A boy has punched me repeatedly, unprovoked, deliberately, he actually punched me like a boxer would punch a bag we weren’t play fighting there was no joke, there was no exchange.”

Ryan was called into the diary room and was given a formal warning. He said: “I think that we both know, and Roxanne knows, that there was no malice and hurt, or anger, in anything that I did during this time. But from your point of view, while doing this show, I am sorry and I understand.”
