The Tatton closed in 2001 after the opening of Parrswood's cinema complex down the road, and has remained in that state ever since.

Half of the building was destroyed, however the 1930s facade remains.

Now, Dickens Property Group have secured planning for the site, and they've confirmed a convenience supermarket and 33 retirement apartments are due to be built.

The Co-op has also shown interest in the site and work on the redevelopment is due to begin next month.
