As well as participating stores taking part in the turn around, McDonald's social media accounts have also followed suit and will remain like that for the whole day.
In a statement, McDonald's Chief Diversity Officer, Wendy Lewis, said that:
"For the first time in our brand history, we flipped our iconic arches for International Women's Day in honor of the extraordinary accomplishments of women everywhere and especially in our restaurants.
"From restaurant crew and management to our C-suite of senior leadership, women play invaluable roles at all levels and together with our independent franchise owners we're committed to their success."
A really classy gesture on such a special day. Can you spot any upside arches around Manchester? If you do, be sure to post the pics in the comments and tell us where.
