When it comes to Christmas movies, Will Ferrell’s Elf is right up there.
Buddy’s the best Christmas hero – he loves sugar, singing and quirky Zooey Deschanel.
But it wasn’t always going to be this way.
Did you know that there was another famous actor attached to the Elf job when the script first came out?
It seems mind-boggling now, but there was.
Apparently the film was first mooted in 1993, and Jim was the go-to for zany back then – a year before Ace Ventura: Pet Detective and The Mask.
People are still finding it hard to deal, frankly

Although some people think Will and Jim are soooo similar…
Elf is one of the worst movies – not just Christmas movies – ever. I don’t understand what people like about it. That Zooey whatsername is so annoying and the usually reliable Ferrell is trying way too hard to be Jim Carrey.

Do you think Elf would have been the same festive classic with Jim?
