Kensington Palace announced today that invitations to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding have been sent out – and members of the public have been invited.

In a statement on Twitter this morning, Kensington Palace said: “Invitations to the wedding of Prince Harry and Ms. Meghan Markle have been issued in the name of His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales.”

The invitation reads: “His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales K.G., K.T. requests the pleasure of the company of……at the Marriage of His Royal Highness Prince Henry of Wales with Ms Meghan Markle at St George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle on Saturday 19th May 2018 at 12 Noon followed by a reception at Windsor Castle.”

The dress code for the royal wedding is “Day Dress with Hat” for women and “Uniform, Morning Coat or Lounge Suit” for men.

Following on from tradition, the invites have been made by printers Barnard & Westwood, who have made Royal Wedding invitations since 1985.

There are due to be 600 guests at the ceremony at St George’s Chapel on May 19, with members of the public making the guest list up to 1,200 in total.

Public attendees have been chosen from all different ages and backgrounds, including 100 pupils from two local schools, and 200 from charities and organisations chosen by Meghan and Harry.
