On October 6th 2001, the eyes of the country were fixed on Manchester as England hosted Greece in a crucial World Cup qualifier.  

With the home side trailing 2-1 in the final moments of the match, fans faced the very real possibility of missing out on automatic qualification for the global showpiece which was to be held in South Korea and Japan in 2002. 

Step forward David Beckham. The Manchester United legend may be known throughout the would for his haircuts, charitable interests and the fact he is married to a Spice Girl, but to England fans he will mostly be remembered for this one moment.
