That’s the message from Highways England, who have release a severe weather alert for roads across the North West.
Heavy rain and winds are being forecast to hit up to 70mph.

The Met Office says strong winds and heavy rain are expected to hit the region from around 7am, with warnings in place for most of the day.
The strongest winds are forecast to be up to 70-80mph during the late morning.
Manchester Airport has confirmed a number of flights have been cancelled, including British Airways flights to London, Flybe flights to the Isle of Man and KLM flights to Amsterdam.
