Santa Arrives To Manchester In The City's First 'Waxi' Boat!

The big man travelling in style...

Waxi

Santa arrived for his first festive shift in style this morning, on board Manchester’s very first water taxi - or 'waxi.'

The jolly rosy-nosed chap sailed along Bridgewater Canal passing Castlefield and Hotel Football on his way to the just-opened Christmas grotto at Manchester's Trafford Centre.

This is the first journey for the city's 'waxi', which will operate 12-seater boats along the canal for anyone around the city who fancies a commute with a difference, and all for 11 quid return - it's not a bad deal!

An even more new-age element to the whole thing is the fact that you can download a free waxi app to order.

Even Back To The Future's Doc and Marty Mcfly would be impressed by such commuting modernism, surely Uber's feeling the heat...

Find out more about waxi's and how to download the app here or follow the Manchester service over on Twitter.
