Police Investigation Launched After Explosion In Bury

Police have launched an investigation after dozens of residents in Unsworth, Bury claimed to have been woken up by a loud bang on Sunday night at 11.50pm 

An old Land Rover with significant damage was discovered on the scene. No injuries were reported and the cause of the explosion is not yet known. 

A spokesman for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue said: “We were called to Harris Drive in Unsworth at 11.51pm on Sunday night to reports that a Land Rover jeep had been seen smoking. 

One crew from Whitefield attended and the matter was handed over to Greater Manchester Police.

GMP confirmed they attended the scene just before midnight and enquiries are still ongoing to establish the cause of the damage."
