Fire crews were called to the raging blaze at the new-build block of flats just on Advent Way in Ancoats a matter of hours ago this morning.

The blaze reportedly spread from the car park to the building and originally involved three motor vehicles inside the covered car park, which is placed next to the flats.

Smoke then started to travel inside the property, as well as into individual apartments - the event caused more than 40 firefighters to be called just after 2am, seven fire engines and specialist units came to tackle the height of the fire - and the dangerous blaze saw the brave crew wear breathing apparatus's while scaling the building - which in total accounts for 30 flats.

All apartments were evacuated safely and there are not believed to be any injuries.
