Bolton Wanderers Have Hit Back At A UKIP Event Happening At Their Home Ground
The club's supporters are raging
Football supporters have slammed their club for allowing UKIP to book an event at their home ground.
In an effort to keep the political party out of the Bolton Wanderers ground, a petition has been started online.
Started by sports fan Ryan Quick, the petition on Change.org states that the National Conference of UKIP is set to be held at the Macron Stadium on February 17 and 18.
It explains: "Bolton is a diverse and proudly multi cultural town and we the citizens and supporters of the town and football team are opposed to the divisive UK Independence Party.
"Much of the divisive rhetoric that UKIP employ is aimed at immigrants and we believe that any support from the established brands of the town laughs in the face of our citizens, many of whom are themselves immigrants or descendent of.
"We demand that Bolton Wanderers Football Club re-evaluate the relationship they currently have with UKIP and as such encourage them to suspend their support of the party's National Conference."
I'm a Bolton Wanderers fan, but will no longer be if they go ahead with the UKIP Spring conference, at the Macron Stadium. They're all scum!— Jeff #FBPE🇪🇺🇬🇧🏳️🌈 (@timberjeff53) January 10, 2017

Club: Brings UKIP Spring Conference to the Macron
With 471 signatures so far, it has some way to go to reach the 1,000 level it's aiming for.
Former University of Salford student Quick, who lives in Bolton, has received support - and criticism - online.
"Stick the petition where the sun doesn't shine lad!" said one commenter, while another added: "Sign a petition to stop free speech? How ridiculous can you be."
