After a string of recent awards and snowballing demand, the critically acclaimed El Gato Negro has announced that the restaurant will be extended into the upstairs bar, The Black Cat, with the creation of an extra 40 covers.

The restaurant only opened it's doors in February, but the acclaimed Black Cat has been highly celebrated since opening. This year has seen the restaurant crowned Newcomer of the Year at Manchester's Food and Drink Festival Awards and Top 100 in the UK alongside Manchester House and The French.

Now, for very the first time guests will be invited to dine on the top floor of the heritage building – a stunning yet relaxed setting for dinner and drinks - plus it's home to the city’s only retractable roof!

To coincide with the expansion, a menu refresh for Autumn will see a host of mouthwatering new tapas, to add comfort and warmth to the coming chilly months. Chargrilled ribeye steak with Iberico ham fries, Palourde clams with sherry and chargrilled sweet potato with mango, chilli and yogurt dressing are just a few additions to the classic new menu.

Chef Patron, Simon Shaw said: “Since opening we have been blown away by the response. So we’ve made the decision to extend our food offer into The Black Cat, so our guests can enjoy the dining experience across all floors."

With the exiting developments in The Black Cat, El Gato Negro is looking forward to welcoming larger parties of up to 16 in time for the Christmas season. The sought after location is also now available for private booking.
