A Victorian Christmas Market Is Coming To Manchester!
Dickens fans delight...
That's right, Greater Manchester are taking things to a whole new level with the introduction of a traditional Victorian Christmas Market!
Inspired by Dickens' evergreen Victorian novels, Media City is set to host a Dickensian-themed Christmas Fayre, complete with Penny Farthings and Dickensian characters.
The market will be located in the Lowry Outlet, and will feature over 100 festive stalls, traditional carnival rides, festive food and Victorian -style entertainment including an actual Penny Farthing ride and a silhouette artist between Thursday and Saturday, and'Strong Men' on Saturday only.
Guests will be invited to try their hand at traditional Victorian games including a 'Milk Churn Challenge', 'Tin Can Alley' and 'Splat the Rat'.
There'll also be a Victorian circus skills workshop taking place from 11am-6pm for the duration of the market.
Of course, in true Dickensian style well-known mischievous characters such as the Artful Dodger and more will be there to entertain the crowds.
The market opens on Thursday, November 24 and finishes on Sunday November 27 and will occupy the open air plaza at the waterfront - better yet, it's free!
Opening hours: Thursday - Saturday: 10am-7.30pm; Sunday: 11am-5pm
Stuff to note: Entry is free but the carousel will cost £2 per ride - so best bring some cash.
