Escape rooms are one of the best places to take your mates and dates - and there may be a new one coming to the Printworks.

The proposed brand is Escape Reality which has locations in LAs Vegas, Leeds and loads of other cities.

Nexus Planning has submitted plans - on behalf of DTZ Investors - to convert the first floor unit at the night spot from a club to a live escape room.

The venue's upstairs from Prezzo - and there's been nothing there for six years.

The planning application says it'll have:

  • seven escape rooms
  • photowall and lockers
  • social and bar area

Escape Reality describes itself as 'the world's number one escape room'.

It says: "Escape Reality is a game played in real life. You and your team have just 60 minutes to escape one of our real and intense movie-inspired rooms.

"You'll come as friends and leave as heroes as you battle against time to solve puzzles, overcome challenges and defeat your doubts."

Games they offer in other locations include prison escape drama Alcatraz, Stephen King-inspired Misery, crime caper The Heist, serial killer horror Enigmista and the skin-crawling The Asylum.

Manchester City Council has not yet set a date to determine the application.
