Ex-Disney star Zac Efron has made a huge leap from his acting roots, with the days of High School Musical and Baywatch seemingly well and truly behind him as he takes centre stage in gripping new drama Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile.
The tantalisingly fiery film focuses on the CIA torture investigation which followed one of America’s most notorious serial killers and has already received a 4-star accolade from The Guardian.
The movie follows much documented Netflix docu-series Conversations with a Killer: The Ted Bundy Tapes. The synopsis describes the film as:
“A chronicle of the crimes of Ted Bundy, from the perspective of his longtime girlfriend, Elizabeth Kloepfer (Lily Collins), who refused to believe the truth about him for years.”
The film portrays Ted’s fiance Kloepfer as a single mother seduced by Bundy’s charismatic wiles, but she is soon forced to make a decision between the growing evidence for Ted’s crimes and her love for the man who claims he is being framed.
John Malkovich features as Judge Edward Cowart, the man who eventually sentenced Ted Bundy to death in 1979.
