The iconic Manchester Printworks' has announced that they will be hosting a ‘Freddie for a Day’ event (and yes, we are of course referring to the man, the rock legend Freddie Mercury ;)) on 5 September.

The venue is the Hard Rock Cafe and it will be home to an acoustic Queen tribute act for one night only - expect wearable moustaches and pins inspired by the legendary rocker, with all benefits going to the Mercury Phoenix Trust.

There'll be two-for-one cocktails on offer from between 4-7pm and prizes to be won throughout the night.

It's all in honour of the 72nd birthday of legendary rock icon. The one-day event hopes to bring Freddie fans together to honour the musician’s life and legacy, while raising awareness and funds for the Mercury Phoenix Trust.

As well as a day full of Queen music, moustaches, and birthday celebrations, there’ll be “pop-a-balloon” giveaways with prizes up for grabs, and a special house band will be playing an acoustic set of Queen’s biggest hits from 5pm onwards and guests can also enjoy the 2-4-1 cocktails from 4pm-7pm.

Stephen Judge, President of Cafe Operations for Hard Rock International says:

“Freddie Mercury was a legendary singer, songwriter and record producer, and we are honoured to continue our longstanding support of The Mercury Phoenix Trust though the ‘Freddie for a Day’ program. This year, we are excited to bring the program to more cafes than ever before and support ‘Freddie for a Day’ in our locations around the world, in addition to our European cafes, which have participated in the program for six years.”

Customers at Hard Rock Cafe Manchester will have the opportunity to purchase wearablemoustaches (£2) and a “Freddie for a Day” pin (£11.95) with proceeds benefiting the Mercury Phoenix Trust. Guests and staff will also join in on the fun with a full day of Queen music and are encouraged to wear their best Freddie Mercury-inspired gear.
