We all love a bit of witchcraft and wizardry…
And it seems like this English town might love it enough for everyone, with a whole day of events planned for Harry Potter Day this month.
Wirksworth in Derbyshire is set to be transformed for the day, Saturday October 20, with local shops and businesses getting on board and fancy dress encouraged.
Bill Bevan, one of the organisers of the event, told Derbyshire Live: “We are working on the events with shops and organisations in the town.
“Currently, we can confirm a display of owls from Woodie’s Wings, craft activities in the library, themed snacks in the Sour Cow cafe and divination aids in the Traid Links shop.
“We hope to have a Harry Potter mystery trail, as well as wand making, potion brewing and spell casting activities.”
According to the paper, attendees can expect wand-making and potions, Quidditch, and herbology.
There will also be a Harry Potter craft fair and activities in the Memorial Hall, and The Boy Who Lived, a pop-up shop of official Harry Potter merchandise.
Fans will also be able to have a ride on the Knight Bus or the HogWirks Express from Duffield, make broomsticks in Stoney Wood, and watch Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them at Northern Light Cinema.
Themed food and drink will be sold from cafes and vendors throughout the day.
