Cleansers, luxury face masks, weekend spa getaways and rejuvenating night creams…the list goes on, and it seems the desire for eternally beautiful and ethereal skin knows no bounds.
Former Spice Girl and mum-of-four Victoria Beckham has brought a bizarre beauty product into the spotlight this week in her bid for younger, firmer, more vibrant-looking skin.
The new face cream – from STURM – features the users own blood – and (apparently) it’s mighty good for you!
So what is this new craze all about?
Dr. Barbara Sturm is the brain behind the strange – and let’s be honest – slightly freaky, skincare range, which includes two different vegan vitamin tablets to be taken twice a day. With clinics in Munich and Düsseldorf, she specialises in innovative non-surgical treatments aimed at all-natural rejuvenation – blood therapies included – which are said to create longer-lasting and “natural” results.
Victoria Beckham wrote on social media:
“This week I’m going to be trying this new product which includes two different sorts of vegan vitamin tablets that you take twice a day.”
The process uses a syringe containing ‘plasma’ which the beauty therapist claims will heal the skin.
Victoria also posted:
“@drbarbarasturm took my blood and created healing factors made by my own cells which is highly anti-inflammatory and regenerative. I’ll be testing it out this week both morning and night.”
The price tag is (possibly) even more shocking than the method – if you were to follow a similar regime to Victoria Beckham you’d be looking at a whopping £1,200 – for the ‘blood face cream.’
I think I’ll be sticking to my Olay…
