It's a shocker...

New research unveiled today revealed that the average couple will spend £110.30 on Christmas dinner this year, with turkey (44%), roast potatoes (40%) and stuffing (22%) voted the nation’s favourite parts of the dish...

Surprised?

Although the majority (51%) of people say Christmas dinner is the best meal of the year, just a third (32%) believe you should be able to choose an alternative meat to turkey and a quarter (25%) refuse to accept Yorkshire pudding as part of the meal.

Must say, I have to agree on the turkey...

Here are the other Christmas 2018 stats...

The typical family will sit down for Christmas dinner at 14:15, while almost three-quarters (71%) will have eaten all of the leftovers by 20:00.

And it's three-quarters of women (75%) responsible for cooking the Christmas dinner, while two-thirds of men (63%) are responsible for carving the turkey

“The research has settled long term debates around what is and isn’t acceptable for Christmas dinner and I think we’re all looking forward to those crispy roast potatoes. Who would have thought that Harry Potter would be on our TV screens alongside Kevin McAllister if we were in control, while it’s the Muppets that would be banished forever!”
