One of Manchester’s most eagerly anticipated hotels has announced it will be opening its doors this November.
The boutique hotel, which is co-owned by former Manchester United players Ryan Giggs and Gary Neville, will be situated in the former Stock Exchange building, located in the heart of Manchester city centre.
The site, which is currently undergoing renovation, will transform the 20th Century Edwardian build into a hotel comprised of 40 rooms, including two signature suites and a stunning 3,500 square foot penthouse residence. Chef Tom Kerridge will be handling all of the food and drink operations within the hotel.
The project came about with hotelier Winston Zahra after Neville and Giggs purchased the building six years ago. They explained: “We knew the Stock Exchange well from when it was a restaurant but it was only when we viewed it in its entirety that we realised the extent of the history there.
“Most people familiar with the building will know of the domed ceiling above the old trading room floor, but there are many other original features that will not have been seen by many, such as fireplaces, vaults and stained glass windows.
“For us it was critical that this heritage was protected, and it now sits at the heart of what we hope will be an exciting new concept for Manchester.”
The hotel has a planned opening date of 15th November 2019 as a member of Relais & Châteaux.
