Bolton comedian Paddy McGuinness, known for his collabs with Peter Kay, was amongst passengers trapped on the M62 on Saturday afternoon after an oxygen tanker caught fire.
Traffic stood still on the motorway near Rochdale, Greater Manchester, yesterday, and Paddy, in true Northern style, was sure as hell going to make the most of it.
On Twitter, he posted a pic with the caption: “Making the most of the bank holiday.
“I’ve given my chocolates to the little girl in the car in front and now this kind gent is returning the favour with lager! Cheers everyone!!!”

Paddy, who was a passenger in a car on the motorway, called the moment “surreal”, posting a video to Instagram showing the quiet scene of non-moving traffic.
He said: “Still on the M62. People starting to have picnics on the central reservation and I’m being serenaded by a stag do!”
A short while later, still stranded, he updated Instagram again, with a video of him enjoying the surrounding countryside.
He captioned it: “Making the most of it.”
Thousands were left stranded after an oxygen tanker caught fire on the M62 between junction 21 (Milnrow) and junction 22 (Rishworth Moor) at around 12pm yesterday. The driver wasn’t harmed in the fire.
Another video updated viewers after traffic started moving, in what felt like the final instalment in the Bolton comic’s motorway entertainment show.
He said: “Back in the back of the car and we’re finally moving….slowly!!!”
Making the most of the weather in true Northern style Paddy. Cheers to that.
