It's now been almost three and a half years since Sir Alex Ferguson left the Old Trafford hotseat. 

Since then, David Moyes, Louis Van Gaal and now José Mourinho (so far) have failed to inspire the type of performances that saw Manchester United challenging for honours over the past two decades. 

Key to that golden era was legendary midfielder Paul Scholes who spoke of his current mood on BT Sport last night having seen United go down 2-1 to Fenerbahce in the Europa League.
