VIDEO: Mourinho - "We Want To Win The Title"

A statement of intent...

José Mourinho came into his first Premier League press conference as Manchester United manager all guns blazing as he announced his intentions to bring the Premier League title back to Old Trafford at the first attempt.

He also addressed Adnan Januzaj's loan move to Sunderland as well as the news that Paul Pogba will be unavailable for the opening Premier League game away to Bournemouth on Sunday.

Here are the best bits from today's media briefing:

On his title aspirations:

"Many more think the same way but they are afraid to say it. They prefer to play a defensive game in words. They prefer to hide and play defensively with the words. That is not our way."

"It is not Manchester United. Manchester United has to say from day one we want to win the title. Maybe we don't win. Maybe at the end of the season we are happy to finish in the top four. But in this moment, when I speak to you, and when I do that I speak to my players too, I cannot speak differently."

On Adnan Januzaj:

"He fits in my plans. That is why he is on loan at a Premier League club. If he doesn't fit in my plans, I don't care where he is going, I just send him to Borussia Dortmund where he didn't play one match."

"He is talented. But  to be in the same squad as Martial, Memphis, Young etc, it could mean not many matches. We cannot be selfish."

"We have to think about the player. Let him play well. See him every week in this country. He is with a manager who likes him a lot but we want him back."

On Paul Pogba's suspension due to two yellow cards picked up in the Coppa Italia last season:

"I didn't know if an accumulation would bring suspension, I didn't know if the suspension would be in the same competition, or the corresponding competition. The corresponding competition is the FA Cup so maybe he should be suspended for the first match of the FA Cup."
