Lifelong United Fan Gets City Tattoo In Order To Raise Funds For Friend's Son

Some things are more important than rivalry...

Manchester United v Manchester City is known as one of the fiercest rivalries in world football but one Red Devils fan has proved that some things transcend the tribalism of sport.

Dennis Hilton, a lifelong United fan already has a number of tattoos dedicated to his Old Trafford heroes but none as important as his latest work of body art.

Dennis has shocked friends and family by getting the badge of United's arch-rivals City inked on his leg in order to raise funds for his best friend's son who was diagnosed with Leukaemia in March and is currently undergoing intensive chemotherapy.

Dennis's City-supporting friend Paul Robinson's 10-year-old Ben also has cystic fibrosis and wants to go on holiday to Jamaica when he gets better.

Dennis, who has been close friends with Ben's dad Paul told the Manchester Evening News

"Me and Paul have been very close friends for years and Ben’s diagnosis hit us hard. I wanted to do my bit and came up with the idea after I’d been to the pub and had a few drinks, which probably helped. But I told Paul straight away and was never going to go back on my word. Obviously, being a red you naturally don’t like City and me and Paul have had banter for years."
