Bonfire Night Set To Come Early As Gundogan Expects Explosive Manchester Derby
All eyes on Old Trafford...
Forget Bonfire Night, the biggest fireworks show going off in Manchester this year is going to take place at Old Trafford this evening.
That's according to City midfielder Ilkay Gundogan who is expecting a heated battle between the Manchester rivals.
The German international cited the recent poor form of both clubs as he told reporters:
"Their (United's) defeat to Chelsea could be a factor, but it is the same for us because we've not won for five games.
Of course we want to win this game and because we both are looking to get the win that will get us back on track so it could be a very lively game."
Despite only arriving in Manchester this summer, Gundogan appears to be looking forward to the derby as much as everybody else in the city as he went on:
"It's a cup game - that makes it special anyway - but the fact it is United and everything that goes with a Manchester Derby for the fans and the city gives it that extra edge.
It has a huge meaning for Manchester, England and maybe the whole world will be watching and we will look to repeat the victory and the performance from earlier in the season."
