A developer has unveiled plans to create a new food hall in Urmston – which some believe could replicate the success of the Alty Market and Mackie Mayor venues.

The Urmston Market site in Railway Road – where an artisan market is held by The Market Co on the first Saturday of the month –  has been bought by the McGoff Group, and they have unveiled plans to create a food hall next to the market hall, reports Place North West.

The application, which has now been approved, detailed the desire to “exploit the popularity of local markets, as demonstrated by the new Altrincham market.”

The Business Desk reports that the proposed indoor market hall concept will feature a 10-12 food and drink operators around an informal central seating area of around 160-180 covers that is “serviced and staffed by Urmston Beverage & Leisure Company, a new division of the McGoff Group.”
