Hotel Indigo Manchester is one of newest luxury hotels to open in the city. The hotel, which is only a stone’s throw away from Victoria Station, is very much inspired by the heritage of our great city which much of the decor being inspired by the Industrial Revolution and our city’s Cotton Mill heritage.
Which is why it makes perfect sense they should launch a Manchester-inspired Afternoon Tea in their M Cafe by Mamucium.
Afternoon Tea is a quintessential part of British life, having been first introduced to England in 1840 by the seventh Duchess of Bedford. The M Cafe’s in-house pastry chefs Megan Chester and Morgan Mole have now created their own variation of the classic – with a distinct Manchester twist.
For the sweet treats you will have mini Manchester Tarts, Chocolate Orange Opera cake, Lemon Choux Bun and the Afternoon teas staple, home-baked scones with jam and cream. But the real show-stopper will be the Vimto Macrons. The delicate melt-in-your-mouth biscuit will of course be flavoured by our favourite childhood drink, Vimto – could it get any better?
Of course no Afternoon Tea is complete without a savoury section – and M Cafe have created something very special. There will be chunky tuna and feta wraps, mini Lancashire oven bottom muffins filled with honey roasted ham and pickle, Goosnargh egg mayonnaise and of course open-topped finger sandwiches with soft cream cheese and Manchester Smokehouse salmon.
The Afternoon Tea is also served with either single origin coffee from Salford Roasters or a selection of loose-leaf teas from Denton-based Tea from the Manor.
But it wouldn’t be a Manchester based Afternoon Tea without Fizz. Which is why you can add on a glass of Prosecco for an additional £4.50.
The very Manuncian Afternoon Tea is served daily in M Cafe and it only priced at £14.95 pp.
