Of course, Greater Manchester is home to some amazing pubs.
You’ll all have your own favourite – where everybody knows your name, and where your drink’s been poured before the door’s even closed behind you.
But we’re thrilled to celebrate the title of the Great British Pub of the Year going to one of our region’s best-loved spots – The Eagle & Child in Ramsbottom.
The stylish spot, revamped earlier this year, was nominated for the John Smith’s award, beating pubs from Scotland, Wales and England.
And it’s not just drinks and revelry it offers.
With community values at its heart, Eagle and Child opportunities to disadvantaged young people from the area – from young offenders to disabled youth – with more than 100 people taken on.
They say more than 75% have stuck to their career in hospitality.
EAT Pennines was created in the hope of “helping to tackle youth unemployment and invest in the next generation of chefs and hospitality professionals.
“Our social enterprise EAT Pennines trains and employs young people aged 16-25 to make sure that they have the skills and experience to move into work or further training in the food sector.”
Thanks to the refurb, the spot now has five gorgeous boutique en-suite hotel rooms.
We’re on our way there right now…
