We’re a city who appreciate our food, thats for sure. So when we heard one of our favourite food delivery services, Deliveroo, is turning 3 years old, we thought we’d divulge a little and see what the people of Manchester are ordering the most.
When we say ‘takeaways’, we instantly think of curries, whether it be Indian, Asian, Chinese or Thai to name a few. However, it seems that Manchester have been using Deliveroo to get away from their curry fixes, with the top 5 takeaways listed below:
- Grilled Chicken Burrito from Barburrito
- Cod & Chips from The Village Fish and Chip Shop
- Chicken Pad Thai from My Thai
- Byron Burger from Byron
- 5 Chicken Wings from Archies
Manchester has an average of 21 days of rain every April*, in which Deliveroo orders come in thick and fast during Manchester’s famous downpours. Deliveroo have decided enough is enough – they want to make every rainy moment this April one to smile about.
So to celebrate turning 3, and for every rainy day in Manchester, Deliveroo will also ‘make it rain’ by giving out Deliveroo platinum cards, which grant the customer a whopping £100 Deliveroo credit. To get their hands on the credit, customers just need to post a selfie on Twitter with the card and tag Deliveroo in the tweet.
Since its launch in the city three years ago, more than 350 restaurants have signed up to the platform. Deliveroo has created work for more than 500 people, with the majority of these being the Deliveroo riders who deliver your food which is cooked fresh to order and delivered to your door within 30 minutes.
Dan Warne, Managing Director of Deliveroo in UK and Ireland, said: “Our whole team here at Deliveroo are delighted that our rapid growth in Manchester over the past three years means that customers have more choice, restaurants are able to increase their revenue, and riders have opportunity to choose well-paid, flexible work.”
Restaurant Manager at Asha’s said “Deliveroo makes it easy for us they enable us to drive more profit for our restaurants with little additional effort. Most unusual in the restaurant business!”
Deliveroo is focused on providing the ultimate food-delivery experience. Customers have the option to schedule orders via the Deliveroo app up to one day in advance, or receive food as soon as possible between 8:30am and 11pm, where at the click of a button, their order will be delivered straight to their door in under 30 minutes.
In November 2017, Deliveroo also launched it’s £7.99 a month subscription service, Deliveroo Plus, enabling Manchester’s food lovers to get unlimited free delivery whilst providing them with new exclusive offers every month.
