"This Manchester Hot Spot Is A Taste Of Tropical Paradise Smack Bang In the Middle Of Winter"

Have you tried this one yet?

Bali Beach Hut

One of B. Eat Street's original street food vendors and often overlooked, Bali Beach Hut is - quite literally - a little wooden-style shack which replicates the feel of an authentic food vendor in Indonesia, with that oh-so negligible difference of it actually being in the middle of Manchester in Icelandic climates, but we wouldn't let that put us off, and nor do they...

Bali Beach Hut Trays

Although the menu isn't massively extensive - everything on it screams such damn temptation that you still feel like there's far too much choice. Cold, rain-drenched, hungry and feeling like I could dive into a sea of carbs, I ordered the lime and soya chicken burger with a side of curried scrambled egg all lovingly wrapped up in fresh pastry with herbs and deep-fried.

The accompanying spring onion, fresh chilli and salad adds the perfect crunch (and a little bit of guilt-limiting 'rabbit food,' as my pops calls it) to this otherwise calorie-heavy, but extremely tasty burger. Be warned though, ask for less chilli if you're averse to spice, this bad boy packs a pretty powerful punch.

Other delectable options include their succulent chicken satay and curried rendang - and if you can't face leaving the house, you can order via Deliveroo:

I also sampled the brand-spanking new Indonesian-style honey glazed chicken with rice which was fantastic. The pastry chef, or so he dubs himself, was a one-man-band serving hungry folk on the night and to be fair to him, he was doing a bloody good job.

Bali Beach Hut don't currently have a website but are pretty active on their Twitter feed, with re-tweets of drool-worthy uploads from satisfied customers the standard order of the day:

Prices are variable and it's a little bit more exxy in the evening, but if you're looking for a lunch with a difference that's not going to disappoint in terms of taste or finances, you can't go wrong with their lunch deal (featured below) for a very reasonable fiver.

Tasty, fresh and a laugh-in-the-face-of-the-sandwich upgrade from your standard office fare. 100% recommend.
