- 100g Unsalted butter
- 160g Dark chocolate (70% cocoa)
- 40g Milk chocolate
- 4 Whole eggs (beaten)
- 250g Caster sugar
- 100g Plain flour
- 1tsp Baking powder
- 30g Cocoa powder
- 100g Walnut pieces
- 30g Chopped almonds
- Icing sugar for dusting
These chocolate brownies are so quick and easy to make a child could do it.
They’re super, super chocolatey and go perfectly with some ice cream as a decadent dessert – provided you don’t eat the whole batch as soon as they’re out of the oven!
Preheat the oven to 180°C and line a square 20cm baking tin with baking paper.
Put the butter and chocolate in a bowl and heat over a saucepan with a little water in to melt together, stirring continuously.
Leave to cool slightly.
Whisk the eggs and sugar together in a separate bowl until it turns pale and thickens slightly.
Carefully fold the chocolate mixture into the egg mixture.
Sift the flour, cocoa powder and baking powder into the mixture and carefully fold together.
Fold the nuts into the mixture.
Pour the mixture into the baking tin.
Bake for 25 minutes until a crust forms on top. The inside should remain gooey so you can test by inserting a knife.
When cooled slightly, remove from the baking tin.
To finish, slice into 16 pieces, dust with icing sugar et voila!
