Rory's Bad Ass Beer Bhajis

Ingredients
  • 4 Medium White Onions
  • 150 Grams Of Gram Flour
  • 1 Tps Bicarb Of Soda
  • 1 Bunch Of Fresh Coriander
  • 1 Bottle Of Tiger Beer
  • 5 Tbs Madras Curry Powder

Beer and Bhajis. That is Saturday night right there. Maybe Sunday as well. In fact maybe Friday… Actually scratch that, beer and bhajis are built for every night of the week!

Onion Bhajis are fantastic on their own as a beer nibble or as a stonking starter for an Indian feast and they are bonkers easy to make… Just make sure you have plenty of good beer in!

All your necessary ingredients.

Peel and finely slice the white onions and season lightly with salt flakes... Do not use that Saxo crap by the way!

Run a sharp knife through the coriander, you can keep the stalks as they will add to the texture.

In a big bowl combine the beer, gram flour (plain flour is cool also), bicarb of soda, curry powder and the chopped coriander.

Combine well into a thick batter - think fish and chips batter and you're on the money.

Simply add the sliced onion to the batter mix and combine well. Grab a handful and drop into hot oil at around the 150c mark - cook out for only 2-3 minutes and serve with a big spoonful of garlic or mint yogurt.
