Food.gov have recently updated us all with a list of food product recalls, from a range of our favourite supermarkets.

Sainsbury's 

Sainsbury’s is recalling a batch of its Sliced Beetroot sold in jars, because the product may contain small pieces of glass. The presence of glass makes this product unsafe to eat and presents a safety risk.

Details include:

Product: by Sainsbury’s Sliced Beetroot Jar size: 340g Best before: August 2019 Batch code: L318N1737 Item code: 7860491

No other Sainsbury’s products are known to be affected.

LIDL

Lidl is recalling its Golden Sun Organic Grains (Amaranth) because Salmonella has been found in the product.

Details include:

Product: Golden Sun Organic Grains Assorted (Amaranth) Pack size: 500g ‘Best before’ date: All dates

No other Lidl products are known to be affected.

Co-op Breaded Cod Fillets

Co-op is recalling its Breaded Cod Fillets because some packs may have been incorrectly packed with battered fillets containing mustard and milk, which is not mentioned on the label.

It means the fillets are a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy to mustard, and/or an allergy or intolerance to milk, or milk constituents.

Surya Foods

Surya Foods is recalling it's Mother Africa Pure Red Palm Oil and Mother Africa Zomi Palm Oil because they contain the illegal dye Sudan IV, which is potentially genotoxic and carcinogenic. 

Sudan dyes are red dyes that are used in industrial applications and cannot be used in foods.

Sweetland Ltd is recalling various sweet and cake products because they have been produced in unhygienic conditions.
