Listen Up Mancs - One Glass Of Wine A Day Can Kill You Quicker

According to new research

Wine Taster

One day a glass of wine can make you live longer, the next it kills you quicker, I don't know what to believe anymore and I am getting real fed up of it. Like make ya bloody minds up!

According to new research carried out by Cambridge University and the British Heart Foundation, just one glass of vino a day could actually cut your life expectancy substantially.

The major study looked at over 600,000 drinkers around the world, and came to the conclusion that drinking between five and 10 175ml glasses of wine or pints of beer a week is dangerous to your health, and could knock up to half a year off your life.

Between 10 and 18 beverages a week could take off one to two years of your life. AND if you have more than 18 alcoholic drinks a week, you could lose between four to five years. Shit news guys.

University of Cambridge's Dr Angela Wood, the lead author of the study, explained: "The key message of this research is that, if you already drink alcohol, drinking less may help you live longer and lower your risk of several cardiovascular conditions."

Apparently over consumption of booze was linked to a greater chance of stroke, heart failure, and fatal aneurysm - ugh.

Its just as bad as smoking ciggies they say -

"The paper estimates a 40-year-old drinking four units a day above the guidelines has roughly two years lower life expectancy, which is around a twentieth of their remaining life.

"This works out at about an hour per day. So it's as if each unit above guidelines is taking, on average, about 15 minutes of life, about the same as a cigarette."

So what now? Are we gonna all give up the booze and live till we are 100? Me personally - not a chance.
