Costa have launched almond milk in all of their UK coffee shops as the demand for dairy-free alternatives reaches an all time high.
The product joins soya and coconut milk as another lactose-free offering for ethically conscious consumers.
It is understood that introducing almond milk was a logical next step for the giant coffee chain, following the popularity of coconut milk after it was launched last year.
A Costa Coffee spokesperson told Plant Based News:
“Research reveals over a quarter of Brits now consider themselves to be flexitarian, and one in three regularly choose plant-based alternatives when they’re dining out, whilst two in three customers in the UK think coffee shops should have more than one plant-based drink choice on the menu”.
The news comes following a number of vegan food item additions to Costa’s menu in recent years, including a Thai Red Curry Meal Pot and a Pecan Pudding Cookie.
So if you’re giving Veganuary a crack, and are looking to mix things up – head over to a Costa soon. You’re only ever a few hundred yards away from one…
