Tim Hortons Comes to Oxford Road And They're Giving Away Coffee and Lunch

First person gets free coffee for a year, first 100 get free lunch!

Canada's most iconic coffee venture Tim Hortons has announced that it will be opening opposite Whitworth Park on Oxford Road, this Saturday 17th March.

The opening kicks off a nationwide roll-out plan. with more locations across the country being revealed over the coming months. Tim Hortons opened its first UK Drive Thru on Bury New Road before Christmas, which saw huge queues form from 2 a.m.

Coffee lovers need to mark Saturday 17th March in their diaries, as the launch day will see the first 100 people in the queue be treated to a free lunch once the doors open at midday. 

But if you're the speediest (and you may need to camp outside for this one!) the first person in the queue will be gifted with a VIP coffee card, entitling them to a whole year’s worth of free coffee.

If you're not too familiar with the Canadian phenomenon that is Tim Hortons coffee, it was founded by its namesake, a top professional ice hockey player who wanted to create a space where everyone would feel at home.

Now one of Canada’s most iconic brands, nearly eight out of 10 cups of coffee sold across Canada are served at Tim Hortons® and more than 5.3 million Canadians – approximately 15% of the population – visit daily.

The first UK restaurant opened on Argyle Street in Glasgow in June 2017. The long-awaited launch was met with a lot of excitement, with fans travelling from across the country and queuing overnight to be the first to sample the brand’s popular coffee and baked goods.

And it's not just the great tasting coffee that gets everyone so excited. Tim Hortons offers an extensive and varied menu of delicious drinks, which include Tim Hortons signature freshly brewed coffee, espresso-based beverages, hot chocolate, French Vanilla and classic frozen Iced Capp drink, but baked goods, breakfast and lunch items made from quality ingredients too. 

Mancunians can also look forward to the arrival of Tim Hortons signature Timbits, bite-sized doughnuts, which come in a variety of flavours.

We want to invite everyone to come down for a little taste of Canada.”
