If you gave us a choice and unlimited budget we could easily have sushi for every single meal of the week. Luckily there are some amazing places to eat it in Manchester and we thought it was about time we ranked them.

We've focused on places that do amazing sushi and sashimi because people tend to group the two together.

All you have to do now is find a friend and start working your way through the list! Enjoy...

10th. Kyotoya

A little off the beaten track but the trip is well worth it. Amazing big portions of sushi and the very reasonable prices mean you'll be able to eat lots of it.

9th. Sapporo Teppanyaki

Open kitchens where the chefs will not only cook but also entertain you. The sushi here is just as good as any of the food they cook in front of you and always a great night out to be had.

8th. Samsi

Has been around for years and the quality is always top notch with super friendly service. For an added bonus head into the gym next door beforehand and work out so as you are even healthier and can eat more!

7th. Doring

The place is so focused on their food and has so many regulars that they can't even be bothered with a website. Amazing sushi to eat in or like many people do to takeaway.

6th. Sakana

Modern spot unlike many of the others on the list where you can wash your amazing (and huge) platters of sushi down with top end cocktails and the perfect place to start a night out.

5th. Teppanyaki Chinatown

Another spot that focuses on the drama of chefs cooking in front of you. While that side of what they do is really neat and entertaining you would be a fool to ignore the sushi in here which is absolutely superb.

4th. Yuzu

OK so there is one major caveat here and that is that they don't serve sushi. In fairness to them they've said that without a "Sushi master" they don't want to do it half assed. What they do is some of the most incredible sashimi in the city. In fact we'll say it is the best and with a slightly expanded menu they'd be number one. Please don't ever change Yuzu.

3rd. Australasia

The food in here is pitched as coming from "down under" but given how close Australia is to Asia you'll find some of the best sushi in the world on that planet as you will in this restaurant. Superb.

2nd. Japan Deli

This is the real deal with no fuss and huge portions. The food is always incredibly fresh and they do an amazing takeaway service as well.

1st. Umezushi

Some seriously high end cooking here with wonderful range of Japanese food. The Wagyu beef is superb but you have to try some of their insanely good mixed sushi and sashimi platters to taste what heaven on earth is like.
