No cranberry sauce in sight...

We love Christmas here at Lovin, we really do. If we could change our name to 'Lovin Christmas' for the festive season we would but we don't reckon the confusion it would cause would be worth it.

Having said all that, sometimes the same old grub on Christmas Day gets a bit tedious. We're all for turkey, ham and mince pies but for just one year it might be nice to try something new.

With that in mind, here's our list of alternative Christmas dinners available in Manchester catering to all tastes and needs. There's something for everyone here but remember, Christmas is only seven weeks away so get booking!

1. Scene Indian Street Kitchen

A far cry from cranberry sauce, this year you can enjoy the tastes and smells of Indian food on December 25th.

The folks at Scene in Spinningfields are putting on a spread which is guaranteed to get taste buds tingling ahead of the big day.

There will be two main feasts available:

1) For a minimum of four for £26 per person and offers a wide range of starters including the spicy Fish Amritsari and the succulent Lamb Chops marinated in aromatic spices.

2) A slightly larger and different selection of starters from the Spicy Chicken or Salmon Tikka to the Tandoori Tiger Prawn marinated in yoghurt, vinegar and delicate herbs and special tandoori spices. This is £30 per person for a minimum table of six.

Both feasts offer a selection of five main courses, basmati pilau rice and traditional fluffy Naan bread.
