Gino said: “When I am back home in Italy I love visiting cool bars for ‘aperitivo’, a traditional Italian pre-dinner drink with friends. I love it.”
“At My Prosecco Bar it’s aperitivo time from 4pm until 6.30pm every day so my guests can drink, relax and also enjoy some wonderful Cicchetti on me! Salute!”
Better yet, you can enjoy the fizz alongside Gino’s new menu at My Restaurant, Manchester.
The much-loved chef has added some of his all-time favourite Italian dishes to the menu, each created from the finest seasonal ingredients.
The launch sees 16 new delicious dishes introduced at the Corn Exchange restaurant, in time for the warmer months. Topping the list of new authentic Italian dishes are Tonno pizza with tuna and olives, pork chop in crispy breadcrumbs with a tomato and basil salad, chicken and porcini mushroom casserole with tomatoes, celery and white wine; plus, linguine pesto pasta served with green beans, capers, pecorino cheese and pine nuts. Additions to the antipasti menu include one of Gino’s family favourites parma ham and buffalo ricotta, served with honey, walnuts and toasted ciabatta, alongside Carpaccio of beef with horseradish and pecorino cream sauce – a traditional dish in Italian homes.
For lighter bites, Gino has introduced grilled Arctic salmon salad served with broad beans, spinach, fennel and citrus dressing, and delicious sides including spicy new potatoes prepared in chilli, garlic and parsley, alongside Friarielli – a unique vegetable that grows in the region of Camponia – with olive oil and garlic. The new recipes are in addition to popular menu favourites, including king prawn bruschetta with chilli mayonnaise and toasted ciabatta, and linguine with fresh crab, chilli and lemon zest.
Commenting on the new menu additions, Gino said: “The new dishes really are some of my favourite recipes and are perfect for the warmer weather.
The key to Italian cuisine is simplicity and the new dishes are examples of real, Italian food, made from only the finest seasonal ingredients. I can’t wait for our diners to give them a try, I’m sure they’ll love them.”
