A Magical Lantern Festival Will Be Lighting Up Manchester

A Winter Wonderland

A magical lantern festival is arriving in Manchester for the first time this winter - making its Christmas debut with a gingerbread house, penguins on ice, an enormous Christmas tree, Santa and a snowman.

The lantern trail, just by the Etihad Stadium, will also feature a footballing scene celebrating the city's love affair with the beautiful game and an 'Ancient Temple of Heaven.'

The festival is expected to wow visitors with with its beautiful hand-sculpted lanterns, but there's promised to be a huge array of food and drinks on offer also, with a tipi bar, Santa's Grotto, fairground rides for the children and of course - tankards of gluwein from Christmas market stalls!

Fancy it?

Course you do.

The Manchester event is open from Wednesday to Sunday between November 24 and January 1 (excluding Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.)

Tickets go on sale tomorrow - Thursday September 14 from 10am, priced at £8 for children and £12 for adults, from the official website here.
