A Giant Sausage Dog Festival Is Coming To Manchester
And you don't have to own one to join the fun
A massive group of sausage dogs and their owners are coming to Heaton Park for one day only this year, in one of the biggest meet-ups in Manchester.
The event - Mass Dachshund Walk - on Sunday April 8th in Heaton Park is open for both dog owners and fans of the breed, but you'll have to donate a quid per dog to get in.
The MEN reports that the walk is in aid of charity Dashchund IVDD, which supports sausage dogs having treatment for abnormal intervertebral discs.
Organiser Julie Barbour told the paper: "I don't think we are promoting a breed that's going to get health issues really, we are just owners who all have the same dog, who all have a passion for them, and we're going for a walk."
For every pound that's donated, purchasers will receive raffle ticket for some amazing prizes, including bottles of wine and dog related gifts.
Walkers should meet at Boating Lake car park on Sheepfoot Lane at 1pm on Sunday April 8th.
