Any true mancunian is well aware what wonderful people, music, venues and pure soul this glorious city of ours is capable of producing – in abundance, and it only takes one or two little things to remind us of the fact. We’re a lucky lot, that’s for sure.
We may act tough as old boots – if necessary – but we’re a sentimental, fun-loving, colourful bunch with a cracking sense of adventure and humour and we love nothing more than harking back over Manchester’s colourful and vibrant past.
From the good old days of the much-loved Factory, the famous Hacienda and that time when dinosaurs ruled and Piccadilly Gardens actually looked like a haven (you better believe it!) to a present which despite new developments, nevertheless oozes that ambiance of an industrial and characteristic time gone by, we’ll be taking you on a mini journey each evening this week (and telling you about a few hidden secrets) – just as another school year begins and we get ready to welcome the final season of 2018 (goodbye summer *sob sob*, you’ve been kind to us!)
We’ll be posting features every evening this week at 9pm, starting tonight – so expect hidden ballrooms, Manchester’s most haunted buildings, and some of the most iconic moments over the last few decades, as we explore a Manchester you may never have known existed…
