Get ready for one of the most visually spectacular shows you will ever see. Just like James Cameron’s cinematic masterpiece, Avatar, Toruk – The First Flight promises to bring to life the Na’vi people and the stunning world of Pandora.
The show promises to be unlike any other Cirque du Soleil experience. The brilliance of the performers who’s athleticism and acrobatics need to be seen to be believed. This matched with the visually spectacular staging that incorporates impressive multimedia projections, massive set-pieces and the largest collection of puppetry in Cirque du Soleil history the create a narrative-driven offical prequel to Avatar.
James Cameron has spoken of how fitting it was that Cirque du Soleil would take on such a project: “AVATAR is really meant to be a celebration of human motion and human emotion and Cirque is able to capture that absolutely perfectly, because it’s all about human performance and physicality. It makes you feel alive to watch these performers”
Toruk – The First Flight is set thousands of years before the events depicted in Avatar, before humans ever set foot on Pandora. It follows two Omatikaya boys on the brink of adulthood who take on the challenge of saving the sacred Tree of Souls, Ralu and Entu from destruction.
Expect to see everything from the floating mountains and the Omatikaya Hometree, to the anurai’s animal sanctuary and the lush jungles where the Tawkami live.
