On Friday 16th November, Levenshulme Market is throwing an all-new ‘Kindness’ Night Market…

In honour of World Kindness Day on 13th November, Levenshulme Market is throwing a big, kind, foodie community party! The November night market is all about the tiny but important ways to be kind, to help other people and to come together to make communities great places in which to live. Kindness takes many forms, from keeping the local area clean to helping those in need.

The social enterprise market is teaming up with a number of fantastic partners for the night market, including Real Junk Food Manchester – whose new street food venture Open Kitchen MCR will make creative dishes from food that would otherwise go to waste.

Another special guest is Contact Theatre, who’ll be running a free kids workshop from 5-9pm. Expect puppets, craft and lots of fun with the workshop basing itself on themes of inclusion, kindness and acceptance, which you’ll also find in their new family show written by Jackie Hagan and coming to Hope Mill Theatre in December – The Forest of Forgotten Discos.

Live music will be provided by the magnificent SHE Choir at 7pm, a vibrant free women’s choir based in Manchester. They make beautiful sounds, and they’re also on the lookout for new members! So you can pop along for a listen on Friday and then head to their website to find out more about rehearsals if you fancy.

Also on hand to chat to market-goers are local community groups such as Levenshulme Inspire and Friends of the Fallowfield Loop. There will be a drop-off point for customers to donate items for homeless people ready for the winter, a list of what’s needed will be available soon on the Levenshulme Market website.

As always at Levenshulme Night Markets, there will be a full bar (including a special bar selling hot boozy winter warmers from a converted horse box) and incredible street food to tuck into, including treats from Geordie Seoul, Dirty Franks, Sushi Craft, Hi Fries, Mio Pizza and many more.

There are also handmade, unique gifts to browse from stalls including Mint To Be, Lydia Meiying, Olive Owl Flowers, In Truffle We Trust and Riverside Spirits.

You’ll find the new Night Market at: Levenshulme Train Station Car Park (M19 3AB) from 5-9pm.

You can also keep an eye on the market’s Facebook page for more information and how to get involved…

Enjoy!

The line-up

The market’s talented foodie traders include Samosa Shack, The Ottomen, Vaso Kitchen, Nasi Lemak, Mac Daddies and vegan bakery Nicely Kitchen – all of whom are busy planning delicious menus to delight carnivores and veggies alike, and there will also be plenty of vegan options to choose from.

The full line-up of food and drink is available on the official page and via Facebook, but organisers reveal that it will feature Mediterranean mezzes, brownies, gourmet mac and cheese, boozy coffees, arancini and lots more!

The Buttery’s pop-up bar will be slinging the drinks, with a wide range of veggie-friendly craft beers, cocktails, wines and more.

There’ll be chance to do some festive shopping as Emslie, Conte Candles, Colette Evans Ceramics, Carafe, Totem Wolf and more will be there along with regulars like Winter Tarn Cheese with a fantastic selection of cheese, eggs and hand-churned butter.

From 6pm, local duo Beatific DJs will be taking to the decks, playing out an eclectic mix of everything from house to soul, indie to electronic – plus plenty of crowd-pleasers to kick off the weekend in style! For the kids, Em-Mazing the Mermaid Face Painter and John Pindar Arts will be providing face painting fun and crafts.
